Like in all its previous 7 years, the international fair MADI<.> Travel Market is held on November 6-8, 2001 in Prague. It is the largest B2B event in travel industries of new European markets and one of the best gateways to Central/Eastern Europe. Last year the MADI fair recorded 513 exhibitors from 37 countries and further increase in foreseen in 2001. Newly the MADI 2001 will take place in modern Prague Fairground PVA Letnany.

Except a strong participation from Mediterranean area (especially Italy, Greece, Spain, Croatia), Central Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary) and some countries of Western Europe (esp. Germany, France, Great Britain), there are expected again the exhibitors from all parts of Europe, Near and Middle East, Pacific-Asia region (esp. Indonesia), Africa and Latin America. Among the hundreds of exhibiting tour operators, hotel chains, spas, airlines or national tourist offices let us mention also well – known international associations like PATA or IYHF (youth hostels). The MADI fair hosts several thousands trade visitors from more than 50 countries every year, with significant portion of buyers from Eastern European countries – candidates of the EU including the baltic states).

As it is usual at the MADI fairs, the official catalogue will be mailed two weeks prior to the fair to all pre-registered Czech buyers to help them to prepare their schedule and appointments with exhibitors. The other important annual brochure of the MADI fair, the complete Address Book of Participants, will be distributed to all exhibitors after the event and available for sale to all others in printed version, on adhesives and as database file.

The early-bird exhibitor discount is limited by deadline June 30, the final deadline for exhibitor applications is September 14. The trade visitors can apply through. The fair organizers will offer an accommodation with special fair prices and a discount on the flights of the official carrier of the MADI 2001, the CSA Czech Airlines, new member of Sky Team. Welcome Desk at the Prague Airport will be arranged again before the event.

Prague Fairground PVA Letnany was built and open in 1998 with ambition to give a modern one-purpose venue for trade fairs to the city of Prague. During three seasons of its operation the PVA fairground has proved a full capability to accommodate the largest fairs held in Prague. There took place 19 fairs and exhibitions in the PVA last year, attracting 3.500 exhibiting companies and above 250000 visitors in total. The number of events at the PVA increases continuously and in 2001/2002 period almost 60% of all fairs organized in Prague will take place there. Today it is evident that the PVA Fairground is the best alternative for future of a business event like the MADI fair.

Accompanying Programme

The special segments and parallel activities of the MADI fair are flourishing as well. The 4th presentation of the Czech Regions and Cities, known as MADI Regions, will include the Day of Regions (November 7) with afternoon Workshop of Regions again. MADI Fitness & Spas, international exhibition of spas and health tourism, having its successful fist run at the MADI 2000, attracts again to its expositions and accompanying programme with Workshop of Spas and conference. Hot new item in the fair programme will be the Slovak Workshop, focusing the buyers' interest to tourism products of Slovakia, another perspective market experiencing significant expansion at the MADI 2000. Like every year, numerous press conferences and firm presentations as well as cultural and social events for participants (sightseeing tours, excursions, concerts, gala-evening) are prepared.
