Sofia Hotel Balkan – SHB (Panos Germanos, Daskalantonaki Group) a Greek company is the owner of Hotel Metropol in Belgrade after the auction that had been carried out in Serbia. The auction, with starting prize of 16 million euro, had been carried out from the Serbian privatization agency. The final prize of SHB’s offer reached the 27,4 million euro. Three more companies from Cyprus, Belgium and Luxembourg participated in the auction.
The four stars Metropol Hotel constructed in 1957. As representatives of the winning company commented, “SHB is going to proceed to a whole renovation programme in order the hotel to become one of the most luxurious hotels in Belgrade.”
However, there is still no detailed investment plan and no decisions have been made regarding the personnel of the hotel.
