Hampton Hotels opens 20 new properties in Q3

Hampton Hotels, the international brand of more than 1,800 mid-priced Hampton Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites and Hampton by Hilton Hotels, announced the opening of 20 new properties in the third quarter 2010, including its first property in Germany. The new openings add 2,015 rooms for the quarter and total more than 170,000 rooms for the brand globally. Five of the new hotels are Hampton by Hilton properties located in Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

“Our growth this period revealed significant achievements for the brand,” said Phil Cordell, global head, focused service & Hampton brand. “Not only did Hampton surpass the 1,800th hotel mark, but we also opened the first Hampton by Hilton property in Berlin, Germany, attesting to Hampton’s increasing global development strength.”

This quarter, Hampton also expanded its social media presence by adding features on Facebook designed to help guests with their upcoming travel plans. The new “International” application allows fans to quickly see what hotels are open or coming soon by country. Road warriors can also map out new trip ideas with the “Hit the Road” application, which provides suggestions for destinations based on the user’s interests and friends. In addition, the brand launched its first in-language Facebook page to represent properties in Latin America. Hampton makes it a priority to connect with guests and provide the latest news through its social media channels.
