Just five years ago the Ice Hotel project became reality. The only Ice Hotel in North America, the second in the world, was revealed for the first time in Quebec for Winter 2001. Four years later, more than 220,000 people have visited this exceptional location and 10,500 have taken the chance of a magical overnight sleeping experience within its walls. Totally unique, Ice Hotel one of the postcard perfect winter destinations has become a flagship tourism product in the region, province, and the country for both the national and international markets.
An Enhanced Season
The preparations have begun for the 2005 season. The Ice Hotel team will celebrate the five years of existence of this magical place in grand fashion. “If the trend holds, Ice Hotel should have its best season ever,” explains Jacques Desbois, CEO of the Ice Hotel. “Tourism-industry indicators have demonstrated a tangible increase and recovery. Results are being felt from the marketing and commercialization efforts of the past few years: the number of weddings booked for 2005 has already exceeded our total from last year!”
New Features
Travellers will be spoiled this year with a fabulously diversified array of packages and services. Loving couples will be able to combine a fairytale destination wedding in the Ice Hotel chapel with a hot honeymoon to the burning island of Tahiti. So as not to leave teenagers in the cold, “6 to 9” privatized dance parties will be organized specifically for them in the N’ice Club. There will be booming music and a fiery hot atmosphere with absolutely no alcohol! New entertainment activities are planned for the grand premier of a festive approach towards winter art.
The 2005 decor of Ice Hotel will be the cornerstone of this fifth season. Last year particular attention was paid to the various decorative elements and the atmosphere of the hotel. In 2005, visitors will not believe their eyes!
