Arabian Travel Market is a vitally important international trade event, and this fact is highlighted by the number of Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn properties which will be represented in Dubai, said Denis Johnson, vice president, sales and marketing, Bass Hotels & Resorts, Middle East and Africa.

We`ll be looking to generate a great deal of new business at ATM, and will be taking the opportunity to underline our position as a truly global hotel operator, offering multi-branded choices around the world for business and leisure travellers.

The opening of the Crowne Plaza Resort Sharm El Sheikh in Summer 2001, marks the brand`s entry into Egypt, and the arrival of Bass Hotels & Resorts` first new Crowne Plaza resort property in the region.

Built over a 250,000 square metre site sloping gently towards the sea in El Pacha Bay, the hotel has its own private waterfront, with magnificent views over the renowned Far Garden coral reef, and features 329 deluxe rooms, as well as three and four bedroom residential chalets.

Bass Hotels & Resorts will use ATM to reinforce the presence of its upscale Inter-Continental brand, featuring delegates from 15 destinations worldwide, including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Asmara, Athens, Bahrain, Casablanca, Churchill, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Jordan, London, Madinah, Muscat, and Vienna.

Other ATM newcomers are the Crowne Plaza Geneva, and the Holiday Inn Singapore. The Bass Hotels & Resorts` ATM team also features representatives from Crowne Plaza hotels in Abu Dhabi, Casablanca, Dubai and Geneva, and Holiday Inn properties in Bahrain, Dubai, Madrid and Riyadh.

Operating more than 3,000 properties worldwide in close to 100 countries, Bass Hotels & Resorts currently has 110 Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn properties under management in the Middle East and Africa, with 25 under development and more in the pipeline.
