The Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest announces the opening of its new Kempinski Spa this month. Following the long-standing Hungarian tradition of spas and well-being, the hotel will add an exciting dimension to the city’s wellness culture.

The Asian-inspired Kempinski Spa, designed by Hungarian architect Agnes Balint, uses natural materials, including original, handcrafted furniture from Indonesia and China. The soothing tones and inviting textures of the interior are combined with the most advanced equipment. The 500 m2 Spa features a fitness centre, indoor pool, a traditional Finnish sauna, steam bath, solarium and a therapeutic bath and massage suite, which is also suitable for treatments for couples. An ice well, heated Kneipp benches, foot soaking basins and several treatment rooms offering aromatherapy, combine with integrated audio and lighting systems to provide a total sensory experience that is unrivalled in Budapest.

The Kempinski Spa offers four signature treatments. ‘Lomilomi’, a Hawaiian healing tradition, during which the therapist employs a variety of broad, rhythmic strokes using the entire arm, with the aim of relieving congestion in the body. For the ‘Thai massage’, the therapist uses his body weight in manipulating the spine and joint focusing on the body’s vital energy lines. ‘La Stone’ uses warm basalt and cool marble stones of various sizes placed upon and underneath the body. Energies are stabilised through the process of adjustment to the temperature and weight of the stones, which results in the body seeking its own balance. ‘Pantai Luar’ combines heat with massage and fragrant botanicals to rejuvenate the skin. The skin’s reaction to the hot temperature, combined with emollient oils and exfoliant massage, result in the efficient sloughing of dead skin cells and rapid replacement by healthy new ones.

The products used at the Kempinski Spa are from the Indonesian based company AJARAN, which combines centuries-old Southeast Asian Spa tradition with western know-how and innovative discoveries from research in cosmetics. All products are based entirely on the purest natural substances.
