Marriott<.> International, Inc. announced that the 165-room Renaissance St. Louis Suites is scheduled to open in early April 2002. Located at 827 Washington Ave., this newest addition to the Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites portfolio is the brand`s first all-suite property and is owned by Historic Restoration Inc. in partnership with Kimberly-Clark Corporation and managed by Marriott International of Washington, D.C.

Adjacent to St. Louis` newly revitalized convention facility, this historic property, formerly known as the Lennox Hotel, was built in 1929. The building has been painstakingly restored to preserve its original architectural charm, and the authenticity of the interior has been maintained through the preservation of original mahogany wood, marble stairways, barrel vaulted ceilings and brass elevator doors. The building was placed on the National Registry of Historic Sites in 1984.

The Renaissance St. Louis Suites is situated across the street from the Renaissance Grand Hotel, a 916-room property scheduled to open in spring 2003. Both hotels are an important part of an urban revitalization project that will bring street-level restaurants, retail outlets and more than 200 residential units to Washington Avenue and the areas surrounding the America`s Center complex. The hotel`s downtown location allows business travelers easy access to many government offices and corporate offices, including Southwestern Bell, A.G. Edwards, May Company, Ralston Purina and Anheuser Busch. The Gateway Arch, America`s Center Convention complex, City Museum, Busch Stadium (home of the St. Louis Cardinals), the Dome (home of the St. Louis Rams) and Laclede`s Landing, a restaurant and entertainment complex, are also within walking distance.

The new Renaissance St. Louis Suites offers 1,700 square feet of flexible meeting space, including the 616-square-foot Westminster room, 750-square-foot Lennox room and 350-square-foot Forsyth boardroom. All guest rooms at the Renaissance St. Louis Suites Hotel are one-bedroom suites with charming French doors connecting the bedroom and sitting area. Equipped to meet the needs of business travelers, the sitting area includes a sofa bed, 27-inch television, two phones with data port, high-speed internet access, refrigerator, enlarged work desk and chair, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, coffee maker and in-room safe. As an added luxury, bathrooms feature Bath & Body Works toiletries and robes.

The hotel`s street-level restaurant, Washington Avenue Bistro, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and serves bistro-style American cuisine that appeals to both hotel guests and local patrons. The Lobby Lounge, Club Level Lounge and room service offer guests alternative dining options. Additional hotel amenities include an indoor pool, health club, sundry shop, guest laundry and valet service.

The Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites brand is for travelers who prize individuality. Renaissance guests can expect comfortable, tastefully decorated environments, thoughtful amenities, appealing restaurants featuring contemporary and regional cuisine, and warm, anticipatory service in a full-service hotel. With over 100 locations around the world, Renaissance strives to delight guests with ambience, style, care and Marriott International`s promise of quality.
