Novotel London West in Hammersmith announced it is on target to achieve its financial goals in 2008, despite the effects of the credit crunch in the city.
Michael Sloan, General Manager of Novotel London West, said: “We are performing well across all markets including room sales, conferences and events, and food and beverage. Our corporate business, which makes up a significant part of our total business, continues to be strong with bookings consistent with last year, despite lead times getting shorter."
There has been a downturn in the number of leisure guests the hotel is accommodating from North America; however this has been offset by an increase in guests from the Asia Pacific region and the UK domestic market.
As a result of the hotel’s continued success the sales team at the hotel has been expanded and tasked with focusing on generating opportunities in new markets, and to penetrate further into existing markets including the local business market. The hotel also plans to enter into a significant refurbishment programme that will continue into 2009.
Sloan said: “We will continue to improve our product offering to make sure that we meet the needs of our clients. We are also focusing our marketing activity to ensure that we continue to remind people why we are an award-winning business, and the first choice venue for meetings and events.
“No one is denying that business is tough, but by sticking to a strategy that is achievable, demonstrating value for money without sacrificing on quality, and having a strong team of people to create business success, we have managed to get the results despite the economic downturn,” concluded Sloan.
