Small Luxury Hotels of the World will host its 13th Annual International Conference in London from 10th to 12th November 2005. Strategically timed to take place immediately before London’s World Travel Market, this year’s conference will be the best attended ever. More than 300 delegates, representing 200 independent hotels from 45 countries around the world will come together to review the success of the past year, share ideas on moving forward and gain insight from industry leaders to an ever growing global business. Aptly themed “The Next Generation,” the two day extravaganza will not only feature a busy business programme with guest speakers, panel discussions and workshops, but an exciting social agenda kicked-off by an exclusive event at Asprey of New Bond Street, culminating with a gala dinner at London’s Landmark Hotel.

In an effort to further understand the global marketplace and the luxury customers that operate within it, Small Luxury Hotels of the World has brought together some of the industry’s most leading and influential minds. Guest speakers will include The Luxury Institute’s CEO and Founder, Milton Pedraza; Peter Yesawich, Chairman and CEO of one of America’s leading travel marketing firms YPB&R; and Simon Woodroffe founder of the successful Yo! Sushi chain and Yotel. Understanding the wealthy consumer, capitalising on hospitality trends through the effective use of brand management, and the importance of utilising innovation to penetrate new markets are just some of the issues that will be discussed by the guest speakers over the two-day conference.

Industry-led panel sessions and interactive workshops will cover topics as diverse as revenue management, the changing pattern of luxury distribution and the importance of attracting the best customers.

“This conference offers education, information and networking that is specific to the luxury sector for the small hotel owner and operator. Everything we discuss has the potential to help us grow our business,” commented Jonathan Slater, Chairman of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Managing Director of The Chester Grosvenor in the UK.

At the close of the conference, Small Luxury Hotels of the World will recognise the best of the best over the past year with several categories of awards, which will include: Best Hotel Photograph, Best Small Luxury Hotels of the World Spa, Best Small Luxury Hotels of the World Experience, Connecting to the Brand and Small Luxury Hotel of the Year. The winners of the respective categories are determined by votes from fellow hoteliers as well as feedback from guest questionnaires. This recognition by esteemed industry colleagues makes the awards even more significant to the individual recipients.

Sponsorship commitments from some of the world’s most prominent luxury and industry brands, such as American Express, Hertz, Asprey and Perrier Jouet champagne are guaranteed to make this year’s conference the most memorable in Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s history.

The Small Luxury Hotels of the World brand is a collection of over 350 independently-owned exclusive hotels in more than 58 countries. Carefully selected for their style and sophistication, Small Luxury Hotels feature award-winning properties including spas, country houses, golf resorts, island retreats, city sanctuaries, and game and wilderness lodges.
