EFAPCO comes to Warsaw

More than one hundred key players from Europe’s meetings industry are set to gather in Warsaw for three days of hot talk, from January 10 to 12. Titled “The Future is Already Here”, the 3rd EFAPCO Congress will be a landmark event in the development of Poland’s fast-expanding conference capabilities – from conference centres and hotels, to tourism attractions and event planners.

“Conventions business is already the most highly-developed and profitable sector in Poland’s tourism economy and EFAPCO’s decision to come to Warsaw is a significant tribute to all of those people involved in welcoming international conference activity,” said European Federation of the Associations of PCOs President Julio Abreu.

EFAPCO Board Member Irena Sokolowska added: “This will be an ideal opportunity for us to reveal Poland’s hidden potential – in premises, hotels, attractions, transportation and organisational services – to a very discerning pan-European audience.”

“That audience will also include a series of influential keynote presenters drawn from organisations including the European Commission, the World Tourism Organisation and the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers as well as from the EFAPCO membership.”

“This Congress will deliver all sorts of valuable insights and experiences that will help us build up towards a whole range of international, even world-wide events, including: Chopin Year 2010, EXPO 2012 in Wroclaw, the EURO 2012 soccer championships and Poland’s Presidency of the European Union in 2011.”

The EFAPCO 2008 Congress is being organised by the association “Conferences and Congresses in Poland”, a non-governmental organisation which brings together the country’s leading suppliers in the across a full spectrum of business tourism.
