Minister of Tourism Ahmed El Maghrabi said that tourism became the most important economic sector in Egypt, citing President Hosni Mubarak`s statements during a meeting of the new Cabinet that tourism was the most important sector in the country.
In statements on Thursday, the Minister stressed that cooperation between the ministries of tourism and information gave an impetus to the influx of tourism in Egypt.
He hailed efforts exerted by former tourism minister Mamdouh El Beltagui, now Minister of Information, to beef up tourism movement into Egypt during his tenure.
The minister said that the tourist media was the driving force behind the success of Egyptian tourism.
He pledged to remove obstacles impeding the tourists inflow to Egypt. He called for coordination between Ministry of Tourism and other ministries to enhance tourist facilities and maintain tourism success.
