Executive leisure travel in China has become more affordable than it has been in recent years, according to corporate travel management consultancy, FCm Travel Solutions. Lucrative travel offers have been a positive effect from the economic downturn, with company executives now able to choose from an abundance of well-priced holiday packages, airfares and hotel rooms.
General manager of FCm Greater China, David Fraser, said now was the time for executives to take advantage of leisure travel deals leading into the summer holiday period. “We are seeing many of the airlines bringing out great specials, especially between Hong Kong and destinations such as Europe and Australia,” Mr Fraser said. “Recently we have booked flights such as Hong Kong to London return, flying Virgin Atlantic, from as low as HK$2,910 (excluding tax); and flying Singapore Airlines to Singapore from HK$1,000 (excluding tax).
“FCm is also offering joint promotions with airlines that are providing free sector upgrades when people book return flights with us, or free club membership and automatic membership upgrades. There is certainly a strong focus on long-haul travel deals at present. Domestic leisure travel hasn’t experienced as dramatic a drop in promotional fares, but there’s definitely a greater number of specials than there were 12 months ago.”
Mr Fraser added that new trends had emerged in holiday destinations being sought by executives within China. “We have seen Vietnam and Cambodia become incredibly popular over the last six months,” he said. “Countries such as Thailand and Bali, which have been popular for a long time, are also continuing to experience a good level of business as their hotels have dropped prices considerably.”
Mr Fraser said FCm’s dedicated executive leisure service sought the most competitive prices while delivering specialised and high-end leisure travel management services for busy executives and VIPs. “Executive leisure is all about one-to-one service, where our consultants develop a very specific knowledge of the client’s interests, needs and preferences in travel,” he said.
FCm’s executive leisure service includes destination knowledge and information, airline bookings, sourcing and booking of all types of accommodation, advice and bookings for tour options, customised tours, door-to-door transfers in some regions, and the management of complex multi-point itineraries. It also includes general travel services such as assistance with visas, passports and insurance.
