AIME 2006, the 14th AsiaPacific Incentives & Meetings Expo, will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on 6 & 7 June.

Melbourne will host the largest event ever to be held in the State of Victoria – the Commonwealth Games – in March 2006. The venue for AIME, the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, will be used by the Commonwealth Games throughout February in the lead up to the Games and will be the venue for badminton, weightlifting and boxing once the Games commence in March.

Rosemarie Sama, AIME Exhibition Manager, said that feedback from exhibitors in response to the change of dates had been extremely positive.

“Exhibitors have been very positive about AIME moving from February to June. Many believe that the change of timing will attract international buyers who have previously been unable to attend the show in February,” Ms Sama said.

MCVB Extends Contract with Reed Travel Exhibitions

Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau [MCVB] has agreed commercial terms with Reed Travel Exhibitions [RTE] for the extension of the current management contract for AIME, the AsiaPacific Incentives and Meetings Expo.

Speaking at EIBTM in Barcelona, MCVB CEO Mr Garry Kingshott said that subject to final contracting RTE will now manage this major international meetings and incentives event on behalf of MVCB through to 2010.

RTE Chairman Mr Tom Nutley said he was delighted that Melbourne has extended the contract.

“AIME has grown substantially over the last five years and gained extensive recognition internationally. We are extremely pleased to continue working with MCVB to further develop AIME over the next five years,” Mr Nutley said.
