World.Net have has signed an reached an agreement with CMS Hospitality, witha leading Hospitality business solution’s provider, CMS Hospitality to collaborate in the development ofjointly develop a web based Property Management System [PMS] for smaller accommodation properties integrated with World.Net’s online distribution and booking technology. The companies will jointly market the product to small/medium accommodation suppliers, such as farm stays, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts. The initial target markets will be Australasia, Asia and the UK.

The new PMS which will be operated via an internet connection on a subscription basis will enable accommdation operators such as farmstays, guest houses and Bed and Breakfast to have a cost effective property management system that has generally only been available to larger commercial hospitality operators.

The solution will provide all acommodation suppliers with a fully integrated, low cost property management and online distribution system that has previously only been available to larger accommodation organisations. Using a single web interface, accommodation suppliers will be able to manage both the operation of their businesses and to participate in online promotion and booking services.

The agreement with World.Net will provide for the new PMS to be fully integrated into the World.Net technology suite. This means that where an accommodation operator supplies product and enables online bookings via the World.Net application suite, as a member or supplier to the World.Net client using the World.Net “BizXtend” remote product management tool, the new PMS will provide the same functions seamlessly, effectively replacing BizXtend..

Other PMS systems have the ability to integrate with third party systems but these are generally not available to the smaller end of the market and the World.Net/CMS Hospitality system will be the first to automate the whole process end-to-end seamlessly for that market said Jamie Norriss, World.Net`s Commercial Director. By including online distribution e.g to Sabre and particularly to Destination Marketing Organisations at national, regional and local levels represents a huge benefit to both the operator and the destination Jamie said.

The PMS will capitalise on the experience of CMS Hosptitality in building software systems for a range of major hospitality groups, hotels and resort operations. Established in 1983, CMS Hospitality is the most experienced and enduring Hospitality software company in Australia and its “GuestCentrix” application suite is installed at hundreds a large number of sites across the Asia Pacific region. The agreement and development also includes integration into the existing GuestCentrix application, opening up World.Net’s technology and distribution opportunities to the current operators of GuestCentrix.

“We are very pleased to partner with World.Net to add PMS functionality for their BizXtend clients and bridge the gap for small operators, in an affordable way, to collaborate with internet distribution channels and destination management” said CMS Hospitality’s Managing Director, Brian Manning.

GuestCentrix is a powerful and flexible suite of hospitality software applications and will provide the core functionality of the new Web Browser based PMS. This will enable operators with an upgrade path by providing a scalable technology solution that maximises their budget and grows with their business.

The integration with World.Net will mean that operators currently linked via World.Net’s BizXtend remote product management tool to major Tourist Boards, such as Wales and Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and to Australian regional tourism organisations like Central Coast Tourism and Tourism Wollongong, who use World.Net technology to operate their Destination Management Systems will be able to provide and make their whole inventory available without the need to manage allocations, or only provide “request’ availability status inhibiting immediate booking confimations and sales. This has been aA significant problem for small operators with limited room stock.
