ClubCorp's Sequoia Golf Management signs two North Carolina golf clubs

Sequoyah National and River Run are the first management agreements under Sequoia Golf Management since ClubCorp's acquisition of Sequoia Golf in September.

DALLAS – ClubCorp announces that Sequoia Golf Management will manage and operate two golf properties in North Carolina – Sequoyah National Golf Club in Whittier and River Run Country Club in historic Davidson.

Sequoyah National and River Run are the first management agreements under Sequoia Golf Management since ClubCorp’s acquisition of Sequoia Golf in September. The addition of Sequoyah National and River Run continues the expansion of ClubCorp’s overall portfolio of owned and operated clubs with more than 200 locations.

“We are very excited to be adding Sequoyah National and River Run to our portfolio of managed clubs,” said Eric Affeldt, ClubCorp President and CEO. “The addition of these two clubs expands ClubCorp’s presence in North Carolina, perfectly complementing ClubCorp’s family of clubs.”

Located 45 minutes west of Asheville and nestled among oak, fir and flowered valleys, Sequoyah National Golf Club offers a par-72, 6,600-yard, 18-hole Robert Trent Jones II design with spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Amenities also include a driving range, putting greens, and chipping area. Located next to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort provides opportunities for stay and play packages.

North of Charlotte, River Run Country Club, contracted as the site of the Web.com Tour Finals Chiquita Classic in 2013-2015, features an 18-hole championship par-72, 7,100-yard Robert Walker-designed golf course. Amenities at the private club also include a tennis complex with nine clay courts, three hard courts and four indoor courts; a spacious swimming pool with 27-foot waterslides and a lazy river and a children’s wading pool; state-of-the-art fitness center; formal and informal dining and elegant private event space.
