The company has announced the creation of this award to recognize the work and contribution to the cruise industry of an individual, company, organization or project considered outstanding in the sector. This special award will be presented when an exceptional candidate is identified. The jury will not be restricted by conventions of frequency, timing or prior notice. The jury will consist of members of the Cruises News Media Group founded by Andres Mira Domenech. Andres Mira (Barcelona, 1968), obtained a degree in Information Sciences from the Universidad CEU San Pablo in Valencia, and became a professional of reference in the transport and tourism information industries. He developed his professional career in a variety of media, until he created his own company, OL PRESS, editing the magazine OPERADORES LOGISTICOS. But what he will be best remembered for is his creation of the Company CRUISES NEWS MEDIA GROUP, a company specializing in the promotion, marketing and communication of the cruise industry.
The new company was founded in 2006 with Cruises News magazine and was developed with the establishment of various communication media events, forums and actions aimed at promoting the sector in Spain together with the international promotion of Spain as a cruise destination. Through him were born the Cruise Excellence Awards, which rapidly gained fame and prestige both inside and outside Spain, and the International Cruise Summit, the first international congress of the sector held in Spain which, thanks to its success, held its second edition en 2012.
