In what is a first for World Travel Market, the premier event for the global travel and tourism industry has joined forces with Airline Business, the industry`s leading boardroom title, to launch a high level two day air travel conference on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 November, ExCeL, Docklands.

The conference – taking a place in an appropriate landmark year for the industry as it celebrates the 100 anniversary of powered flight – in partnership with leading technology supplier Amadeus, brings together leading managers from the travel sector to debate the future of the air transport sector.

The high profile event has attracted some of the leading players in the sector. To date confirmed speakers include Steve Ridgway, Chief Executive Virgin Atlantic; Richard Lovell, Executive Vice President, Wagonlit Travel; Tim Claydon, Executive Vice President, Sales and Distribution, Jetblue Airways; David Scowsill, Chief Executive, Opodo; Martin George, Marketing Director, British Airways; Andrew Buckley, Senior Vice President, Amex Travel; Tom Stone, Director of Travel, Universal Music; Harry Bush, Group Director, Economic Regulation UK, CAA and Chris Tarry, Chairman, CTAIRA.

The conference, says Kevin O`Toole, editor of Airline Business, comes at a time when the airline industry is facing an unprecedented level of challenge on every front. With the advent of the online revolution and the emergence of aggressive new low cost carriers, the old certainties are being tested and new models emerging.

Fiona Jeffery, World Travel Market Group Exhibition Director comments: This conference illustrates the importance World Travel Market places on the airline industry. It offers a rare opportunity for airlines to meet with travel buyers, managers and other partners to debate and discuss the future at World Travel Market on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th November. It looks set to be one of the highlights of the event`s four days.
