Alitalia UK has just launched a new booking engine powered by e-Travel (part of Amadeus) and named Planitgo.
In response to Alitalia customer feedback, the Planitgo booking engine offers new features ranging from the option of paying by Switch card to booking children and infants online. Plus, as a bonus for the airline`s international audience, the entire transaction process can be carried out in the customer`s choice of language (either English or Italian).
Improved services include a stronger and better performing best-price search allowing visitors to search up to one week from their original departure time in order to find the cheapest price.
Planitgo is also opening up the future for a number of other more targeted products. In the pipeline are the launch of a dedicated special offers site and booking engine in the next few months, using the same technology but with advanced features. Other plans for the Autumn include a new look-and-feel and enhanced booking engine as well as a website dedicated to SME`s, featuring a sister product to Planitgo.
In addition to the UK, the e-Travel solutions and services will serve Alitalia across a further 6 countries (Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Denmark and Sweden) and in 4 local languages plus English and Italian.
