CAA steps in to rescue cruise company`s passengers

The Civil Aviation Authority has called the ATOL bond of travel organiser Cruise Promotions Ltd of Romford, Essex

The Civil Aviation Authority has called the ATOL bond of travel organiser Cruise Promotions Ltd of Romford, Essex  after the company informed the CAA that it cannot meet its liabilities and has ceased operating.

The company, which traded as Cruise Egypt, specialised in cruising holidays and held Air Travel Organiser`s Licence 5795. Its ATOL bond of £1.46 million will be used to repatriate and refund customers. The CAA issued the following advice to passengers.

“There will be no further outbound flying from the UK to Luxor, Egypt, after midnight tonight. After this, all passengers due to travel should not go to their airport and the CAA will contact them about making claims for refunds. Passengers abroad in Luxor will all be able to complete their holidays before returning home.”

Passengers due to travel to other destinations should contact the CAA for advice.
