The year 2001 has been dedicated to ancient Greek philosopher Socrates, who was executed following his famous trial about 2,400 years ago, and the events, organised by the European Cultural Center of Delphi, began last week at the ancient site of the Roman Forum in Athens. The events are taking place are in the framework of the 2001-2004 Cultural Olympiad and are under the aegis of Greek President Costis Stephanopoulos.
