The fifth Moscow International Tourist Fair (MITF) Tourism and Holiday-Making, which will open in Moscow in mid-Mat immediately following the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Victory-in-Europe Day, will draw a record- high number of participants from 80 regions of Russia and 40 foreign countries, Grigory Antyufeyev, Chairman of the Moscow City Committee for Tourism, told a news conference at Itar-Tass.
More than 1,000 companies and organisations have already got registered to participate in Russia`s major tourist fair, which is to take place at the Gostiny Dvor centre, Moscow`s largest indoor exhibition facility. A cycle of lectures on the peculiarities of travel activities in the Moscow Region will be arranged for the first time this year for the directors of travel companies and organisations, Antyufeyev said.
Greece will present the largest display at the exhibition after the Russian one, Antyufeyev pointed out. Each of the 80 Russian participating regions will be provided with six square metres of exhibition area free of charge, he said. In view of the fact that all exhibition premises at the Gostiny Dvor have been already allotted, we are planning to double the exhibition area next year. With this end in view, we shall have to rent another exhibition ground, Antyufeyev said without specifying where it will be located.
The 5th international tourist fair will run from May 12 to 15, a committee official specified. (Itar-Tass)
