Gulf Air, has signed a yearlong sponsorship deal with Kuwait Irish Society. The sponsorship will support the Society`s various cultural and social activities in Kuwait throughout the year. The sponsorship involves providing complimentary tickets and specially discounted tickets to bring artists and guests from Ireland to Kuwait in connection with the Society`s events and, providing other local support.

Gulf Air, as the first airline from the Middle East to fly direct to Dublin and with the biggest network in the Middle East, has the unique advantage of connecting the Irish community in Ireland and the Middle East.
The sponsorship association with Kuwait Irish Society began in March 2006 with Gulf Air bringing in the well-known Irish theatre performance `Dance of Desire to Kuwait at the Marriot Hotel. The show, watched by over 400 people, was an instant hit among the audience.
Ever since Gulf Air started its services to Dublin, we are able to show case Ireland`s culture and tourism to the people in the Middle East by associating with Irish events such as this, adds Gulf Air General Manager Sales Houssam Weiss.
Our association with Kuwait Irish Society will surely help the Irish community in Kuwait to get closer to their culture and people.

This is one of a kind cultural event held in Kuwait for the very first time and the Gulf Air sponsorship has made it possible for us to bring it. We are extremely thankful to Mr. Houssam Weiss and his team for their cooperation and efforts to conclude this sponsorship.
Gulf Air brought `Dance of Desire` to Bahrain in November 2005 as part of its promotions to launch its Bahrain- Dublin service. The show became an instant hit with Bahrain audience and won rave reviews in the media. Gulf Air donated the proceeds of the show to the Pakistan earthquake victims.
In February 2006 Gulf Air flew in again, the artists of Dance of Desire to Dubai for a performance at Madinat Jumeirah, which was also well received by the Irish and the rest of the international community in Dubai.
Other activities of the Kuwait Irish Society in which Gulf Air will be associated include a concert to be held at the English School, a garden concert at the British Embassy premises and a band performance at the Gulf Air top agents` award ceremony. More events are being planned by the Society.
The Kuwait Irish Society was established about 10 years ago and has stepped up its activities recently by organising many activities to bring together the Irish community in Kuwait.
