It has been announced that the UK’s fastest growing online independent travel agent has won the award for best travel agency in the 2010 TravelMole web awards at the Canadian High Commission in Central London earlier this week.
Fleet-based online travel agent sunshine.co.uk has picked up the TravelMole web award for the ‘best travel agency’, beating Directline Holidays and The Co-operative Travel to the post. The ceremony took place in London on June 17th and recognised the best of the online travel industry.
The travel trade site TravelMole runs the award ceremony annually to select the best of UK travel websites. This was the first year sunshine.co.uk was shortlisted for the award.
Chris Brown, co-founder of sunshine.co.uk, commented on their success; "It’s a fantastic feeling to win any kind of award, but we are especially delighted to have been recognised for our efforts by TravelMole, which we view as a highly respected travel and tourism site. To be up against some very well established travel agents and be able to walk away with the award is a fantastic feeling.”
He continued, “We are constantly working hard to maintain a good service for our customers and have a lot of exciting things going on right now, including the development of our location-specific sister sites such as majorca.co.uk and others. We’re having a great year so far and have a very busy period ahead of us, but as always we’re looking forward to what the rest of 2010 has to offer.”
