Swiss International Air Lines has earned a clutch of further distinctions at this year`s World Travel Awards. Swiss captured the award World`s Leading Economy Class Airline for the first time and repeated as Europe`s Leading Airline and Europe`s Leading Business Class Airline.
The 13th World Travel Awards were selected on the basis of input from more than 167 000 travel-and-tourist-sector specialists from 200 different countries. The winners received their distinctions at a gala ceremony held on the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean.
Once again, Swiss featured prominently among the podium places, winning awards in the following categories: Europe`s Leading Airline, Europe`s Leading Business Class Airline and World`s Leading Economy Class Airline.
This was the fourth year in succession that Swiss has been named Europe`s Leading Airline – and the second time that it has garnered the Europe`s Leading Business Class Airline distinction. Swiss was further voted the World`s Leading Economy Class Airline, the first time it has earned this award.
These distinctions confirm to us that we are on the right track and that our products and services are acknowledged and appreciated all over the world, commented Swiss President & Chief Executive Officer Christoph Franz.
