Touristlink launches service enabling travelers to get offers direct from locals

Travelers can simply enter requirements on an easy to use form and get multiple offers from local providers that are tailored to their social profile

UNITED STATES – Touristlink.com a social platform connecting travelers to small local travel providers announces the launch of a new service that lets travelers post the exact services they need and then receive multiple offers from local travel providers. Requests for travel services will be linked to a traveler’s social profile so that locals can custom build relevant offers based on the customer’s profile. Travelers can request any type of travel service from airport pickups to multi-day itineraries. Once a request is made it is delivered to relevant providers who can view the request and make an offer.

The new service gives travelers a much needed tool to find local services and then get custom made offers. Travel providers can post questions on a public board to clarify the request before posting an offer. Travelers can view the social profile of the travel provider as well as see reviews from other travelers on a particular provider before selecting a service. In addition, all provider profiles include contact details so travelers can contact a provider or find out additional information before selecting an offer.

Site founder Dr.Urmann commented “Members can use our simple form to request whatever they want whether it is a “Taxi Pickup from an Airport” or a “Guided trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro.” Once a request is made it goes out to our network of travel agents and guides who can then make offers from which the member is free to choose one if he likes. We see this is a great trip planning service and an easy way to connect with locals.” For most travelers the experience and not the hotel is the key part of the trip. Surprisingly the same travelers often spend more time figuring out where to stay and booking flights simply because it is hard to book the services of local guides, transport services or recreational activities online. Touristlink aims to make it easy for travelers to plan the experience part of the trip by connecting them with local providers. Touristlink.com launched in October 2011 and has signed up over 5000 local travel providers in over 125 countries.

Once an offer is selected Travelers pay an upfront booking fee and then pay the balance of the amount due upon arrival or completion of the service. Reviews of travel providers as well as an optional certification process can help travellers vet potential providers before deciding to use their services. The social profiles of providers contain a host of information including; specialties, location they serve, languages, photos of past trips and specific contact information.
