Variety Cruises announces new Adriatic coast program for Summer 2010

Variety Cruises will launch its newest program to the Adriatic Coast in summer 2010, exploring the hidden gems of Venice and Croatia. Passengers will spend eight days aboard the Pegasus mega yacht, which will be refurbished this season to re-launch next spring. Embarking from both Venice (Italy) and Split (Croatia), the program sails June through August 2010, with fares beginning at $2,690 per person, per week plus port taxes.

The Pegasus
Passengers will sail aboard the Mega yacht Pegasus, which hosts just 46 guests with 23 cabins in a relaxed, congenial atmosphere. The vessel, which is to be refurbished from November 2009 to March 2010, affords magnificent sea views as guests stroll 2,500 square-feet of open deck, furnished with comfortable deck chairs and spaces for delightful al fresco meals. Passengers can relax with friends in the handsomely appointed lounge, browse in the well-stocked library or enjoy ocean-view dining in the spacious restaurant area. A platform on the stern enables swims right off the ship when weather and anchorage conditions permit.

Life on board centers around the indoor/outdoor Lounge and the American Bar on the upper deck. Friendly service on-board is provided by the captain and his experienced marine and hotel crew members. Cabins are equipped with twin or queen size beds with large windows or portholes. All cabins offer en suite bathrooms with shower, TV/DVD players, hairdryers, individually controlled A/C and safe deposit boxes.

Itinerary
The Adriatic Coast itinerary departs Fridays from Split and Sunday from Venice. Guests visit Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic, a city of love and arts and a city almost frozen in the midst of time. Passengers have a unique opportunity to explore this world-renowned city of palaces, canals and bridges under the Mediterranean moonlight.

The cruise continues along the Adriatic Coast to Croatia to the following ports of call:
– Rovinj, located on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula, an active fishing port.
– Zadar, a fortified town located on the Adriatic Sea, the center of Zadar County and the wider northern Dalmatian region.
– Siebenik, the oldest native town of Croatia, the heart of the Adriatic coast.
– Lush and beautiful Hvar Island, a Greek colony, known as Pharos ‘lighthouse’.
– Split, the largest Dalmatian city situated on the shores of the eastern Adriatic Sea.
– Pula, the “Heart” of the Istria region, spreading over seven hills and an ancient Roman colony called Pollenta.
