Wizz Air increases capacity by 20% in Timisoara

Wizz Air, the low fare – low cost airline in Romania and in in Central and Eastern Europe further develops its operations in Timisoara Airport by increasing capacity on a number of routes.

Starting from 27 March Wizz Air will increase services to Dortmund (Germany) and from 23 June 2012 to Paris Beauvais (France), London Luton (UK), Forli Bologna and Rome Fiumicino (Rome).

With these service improvements, Wizz Air will increase its capacity in Timisoara by 20% next summer and, as a result now expected to carry over 400,000 passengers to/from the airport in 2012.


“I am pleased to announce this increase in capacity and improvements in services to key destinations.  This latest expansion is a further proof of our commitment to the Romanian market and specifically to the Banat region. The expansion of our affordable services to the major European destinations is welcome news to the people living in Timis and the surrounding counties. The resulting increases in air traffic will also have a further positive effect on the local businesses and employment,” – said John Stephenson, Executive Vice President of Wizz Air.
