TUI Travel implements ‘Sustainability Cloud’ to report emissions

CloudApps’ solution will drive sustainable improvements to business performance and carbon reporting.

LONDON – TUI Travel PLC is rolling out CloudApps’ Sustainability Cloud, making it easier to track and analyse sustainability performance across the Group’s 240 brands. The latest step in its on-going commitment to sustainable holidays, the Cloud will allow TUI Travel to standardise the collation and consolidation of environmental data from over 400 different sources, enabling it to meet carbon reporting requirements and identify potential efficiency savings across the Group.

The Sustainability Cloud’s standardised reporting procedure will also make it easier to run both external and internal reports across the Group, whilst enabling it to access performance statistics on a real-time basis.

The Cloud will allow TUI Travel to assess the sustainability performance of individual hotels, airlines or major premises across the Group, highlight room for improvement, and consequently monitor comparative progress through tangible results. The Sustainability Cloud can be operated in six languages, ensuring quick and accurate use worldwide.

James Whittingham, Group Environment Manager at TUI Travel adds: “This is the first time we will capture all this data in one place. The CloudApps Sustainability Cloud will allow us to track and monitor our sustainability performance right across the Group. Going forward, the intelligence gained will help us to improve our sustainability business performance. The reporting interface gives us a robust, fully auditable model, allowing us to run reports and pull relevant data on-demand, making us more accountable to our customers and enabling more in-depth analysis of our own performance.”

Peter Grant, CEO, CloudApps added: “The Sustainability Cloud will allow TUI Travel to focus on its business of providing leisure travel in over 180 countries and serving more than 30 million customers, safe in the knowledge they will be able to efficiently meet environmental reporting standards with accuracy.”
