The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announced that delegates to its 73rd World Travel Congress and ASTA`s Cruise/Caribbeanfest, to be held in Miami Beach, Fla., October 21 to 26, 2003, will have the opportunity to meet and hear Henry L. Andy Anderson, lead counsel in the Hall class action case against the airlines, who has promised some exciting surprises.
The Hall case was brought by ASTA member travel agent Sarah Futch Hall on behalf of herself and other domestic travel agents, against the major airlines. It alleges price fixing and conspiracy in reducing travel agent commissions to zero, beginning in 1997.
ASTA is pleased that Andy Anderson, the lead counsel in the Hall class action case against the airlines, will give a major presentation at ASTA`s World Travel Congress and ASTA`s Cruise/Caribbeanfest, said ASTA President and CEO Richard M. Copland, CTC. This will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to meet and hear this outstanding lawyer. In the past three years, Anderson has totally immersed himself in the industry and acquired unique knowledge. We are delighted that he will share this knowledge with us at Congress.
Anderson will explain to attendees how they can participate in and benefit from the settlement he has negotiated with Lufthansa Airlines. He will reveal the results of his three-year investigation of airline practices. Anderson will also discuss his plans for the remaining litigation against all the other carriers in the Hall case. He will speak on Saturday, October 25 from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at ASTA`s Congress and ASTA`s Cruise/Caribbeanfest. Room location will be announced.
