Grupo Aeromexico affiliates transported 11.6m. passengers in 2010

As a result of passenger preference for Grupo Aeromexico airlines, the company transported 11.6 million passengers during 2010 on its national and international routes, including scheduled flights as well as charters. This number represents an increase of 12 percent from the previous year and positions Grupo Aeromexico as the leader for the airline industry in the country.

A look at the overall passengers served by the airline:

  • In the past year, Aeromexico transported 6.5 million passengers, representing an 8 percent increase over 2009.
  • Aeromexico Connect carried a total of 4.9 million travelers, 700,000 more than in 2009; this reflects an increase of 17 percent. Consequently, these figures maintain Grupo Aeromexico’s leadership in the national airline industry and position Grupo Aeromexico as the company serving the largest number of passengers in the domestic territory during 2010.
  • Aeromexico Travel, the affiliate that focuses exclusively on charter flights, increased the number of passengers transported to 40,000, ending 2010 with a total of 250,000 passengers.

Within the national market, Aeromexico Connect and Aeromexico maintained their leadership as Mexico’s most important airlines, carrying 4.6 and 4.2 million passengers, respectively.

These results reaffirm the commitment of the group’s affiliates to work even harder to increase quality and to deliver the service expected by the millions of passengers who have chosen Aeromexico as their preferred airline.
