COARSEGOLD, CALIF. – Local, state and federal officials and leaders from across “Indian Country” joined the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians at a celebration marking the grand re-opening of the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino today.

“We are here to celebrate the work our employees, Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino‘s management and our tribal government accomplished to re-open this beautiful facility,” Tribal Chairwoman Claudia Gonzales said. “We are excited to welcome the community back to Chukchansi Gold and appreciate the support of all those we have worked with to make this day happen.”

“Our casino, hotel, spa, restaurants and other amenities are all open and providing a great experience for our customers,” said Christian Goode, Chief Operating Officer of Chuckchansi Gold Resort and Casino. “Our patrons are back filling the resort and casino and are having a great time.”

Since their election last Fall, the Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians Tribal Council worked with local, state and federal government agencies to get Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino ready to be re-opened after a nearly one and a half year closure. After announcing re-opening agreements with government agencies in early December 2015, the resort opened its doors for a “soft” opening on New Years Eve.

Thousands of patrons filled the resort and casino New Years Eve and have continued to keep Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino busy since.

“We are pleased to have so many members of the community here to help us officially re-open, and are especially grateful for the support of so many Tribal Leaders with us today from around the state and nation,” Chairwoman Gonzales said.

The casino and resort is now fully open with more than 56,000 square feet of gaming space featuring more than 1,700 reel and video slot machines and 22 table games, 220 hotel rooms and suites, and seven restaurants and bars, including a world class buffet, Vintage Steakhouse, Bakery, a 24-hour light fare eatery, Deuces Diner, 3 Peaks center bar and Firehouse lounge that features live entertainment.

The Resort also boosts many other attractions, including a full service spa, Serenity Springs Spa and a Salon. The 13,000 square-foot spa offers massages, pedicures, facials and hair styling. A fitness room will be available 24 hours and an indoor/outdoor heated pool and swim-up poolside bar. There are three conference rooms, an outdoor gazebo for events or meetings.
