LEXINGTON, KY. – A 19th century antebellum manor in Lexington has undergone a facelift to make it the perfect venue for weddings, receptions and other private events.
Restorative renovations are now complete at The Mansion at Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa. Unique among hotels in Lexington, KY, the historic mansion serves as a one-of-a-kind location that blends tradition and sophistication.
Originally built in 1854, The Mansion recently finished updates at a $200,000 price tag. In addition to all-new trompe l’oeil wallpaper and paint colors in crisp cedar, dogwood, burr oak and blue ash – giving the interior a more light and airy feel – the carpet was pulled up to uncover original white oak floors, refinished to revive their original beauty. The front columns were restored as well. Lights were restored or replaced with new, ornate sconces, chandeliers and pendants. Soft textures, lacquered finishes and gilded accents now highlight the spaces. Other fresh touches include new bathroom tile and new carpet on the second floor.
Accommodating groups of 20 to 300 people, the exclusive venue at one of the largest Lexington, Kentucky hotels hosts elegant corporate functions, holiday parties and wedding celebrations throughout the year. With two floors of indoor space and a connecting patio, event planners can make the most of The Mansion’s beautiful Southern surroundings for outdoor wedding ceremonies or extravagant celebrations under the stars followed by exceptional receptions indoors.
