Hotelbeds expands its portfolio of Caribbean destinations and hotels

One of the key drivers of the growth to the Caribbean as a destination has come from a surge in demand from customers in Latin America.

PALMA DE MALLORCA – Hotelbeds, the global accommodation wholesaler, predicts an increase of 40% growth across the Caribbean region by the end of 2013 as it opens new destinations and increases its hotel portfolio to meet the demand.

Hotelbeds has been operating in the Caribbean since 2005. It already has 25 Caribbean destinations featured on the Hotelbeds website and 700 hotels. Due to the increase in demand and predictions for future growth by the end of 2013, Hotelbeds has expanded its destination coverage to include Guadeloupe, Haiti, St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Kitts and Nevis and Haiti. Hotelbeds plans to increase its hotel portfolio to over 900 hotels in these key destinations.

One of the key drivers of the growth to the Caribbean as a destination has come from a surge in demand from customers in Latin America. In 2013 this growth is expected to increase by 55% with Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile sending the largest volumes of customers to the Caribbean.

Javier Arevalo, Regional Managing Director The Americas, Hotelbeds commented: “The Caribbean region has had an amazing start to 2013. Our clients particularly from Latin America are searching for a greater variety of destinations and hotels. We are responding quickly to this increase in interest and working with our suppliers to increase our destination and hotel coverage. We have a really positive outlook for the Caribbean in 2013.”
