SegundoHogar.com announces 20,000th property

This announcement goes hand-in-hand with the international validation of their commision-based business model stemming from HomeAway’s recent announcement.

BUENOS AIERS, ARGENTINA – SegundoHogar.com, a growing temporary home rental company based in Latin America, announces the addition of their 20,000th property, spanning six countries throughout the region. This announcement coincides with the international validation of their existing commision-based business model, one that their North American counterpart, HomeAway, recently put into action.

With over 500 property managers promoting vacation homes in more than 220 different neighborhoods in over 35 cities throughout Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico, SegundoHogar.com is the largest vacation rental property company in Latin America. They have 40,000 additional units signed-up and are in the process of uploading them to the platform before the year’s end. Since day one, they have functioned solely under a commissions-based model– one that HomeAway, the largest temporary rental company in the USA, announced on October 17th, meaning that “homeowners can try the company’s service with a very low upfront cost and risk.”

SegundoHogar.com’s traction in the last six months has been impressive thanks in large part to their team’s experience building successful startups, extensive local know-how, and expansive network. The number of active properties has multiplied by nine, traveler inquiries by seven, and website visits by ten. Constanza de la Cruz, SegundoHogar.com’s General Manager and long-time travel professional states that “we have worked very hard to detect travelers’ necessities throughout the region and our commissions-based model has allowed us to grow quickly, providing the types of properties our clients seek and the outstanding service that brings them back.”

The growth of SegundoHogar.com comes at a time when Latin American travelers are far more accustomed to using internet to book their vacation rentals. Consequently, the company projects that, in the next year, there will be over 100,000 properties listed on their platform – many in coveted vacation destinations like Punta del Este, Uruguay and Playa del Carmen, Mexico. “Our region is experiencing a paradigm shift and people are adopting new online habits that are reflected in their digital vacation planning. Our exceptional support for both travellers and property managers is essential for building trust and driving local, offline transactions to e-commerce” adds de la Cruz.
