60% of US adults likely to go away on vacation this summer

Of those that are likely to take a vacation, top reason (43%) is just needing to ‘get away’ after being stuck at home for so long.

With summer just around the corner, are families planning their vacations with the pandemic still going on? ENGINE Insights conducted a survey to find out, and uncovered 60% of US adults are likely to go away on vacation this summer, and 35% think now is a good time to research or book travels.

Of those that are likely to take a vacation, their top 3 reasons include: 

  • 43% – Just needing to ‘get away’ after being stuck at home for so long
  • 34% – Being more comfortable with it after a year of living with safety measures such as social distancing and wearing a mask
  • 31% – Having received the vaccine for COVID-19/ expecting to receive it by the summer

Alternatively, those unlikely to go away this summer state the following reasons:

  • 38% – Just not being comfortable with it yet, despite a year of living with safety measures such as social distancing and wearing a mask
  • 38% – Financial situation being the same or worse than it was compared to last year
  • 35% – Still planning to stay at home until coronavirus cases have dramatically decreased
