Aeromexico increases its connectivity to provide additional benefits to all of its clients

During the Tianguis Turistico travel trade show, the airline announced the growth of its domestic and international connectivity network in recent years.

MEXICO CITY – During the 2014 edition of the Tianguis Turistico travel trade show, Aeromexico, Mexico’s global airline, announced the growth of its domestic and international connectivity network in recent years, thanks to the development of its main hubs and its fleet renewal plan.

Between 2010 and 2014, Aeromexico increased its 66 destinations in 14 countries to 80 destinations connecting 19 countries to and from Mexico, as well as more than 1,000 destinations on its global route map, thanks to its airline alliances. In this period, the carrier increased its connectivity 10 percentage points and is expected to continue this trend at year end.

Domestic Connectivity
Aeromexico strengthens its presence in the main hubs it operates in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Hermosillo by increasing the number of flights it offers at peak times to make sure its clients are able to connect to the largest number of routes and destinations possible.

Furthermore, the carrier is now offering its business market Aeropuente, a new shuttle service that offers increased connectivity to Mexico’s three major business destinations with an average of 17 daily flights offered between Mexico City and Monterrey and Mexico City and Guadalajara, as well as an average of eight daily flights offered between Monterrey and Guadalajara.

Regionally, the airline offers code share flights operated by Aeromar to nine destinations from Mexico City, and two daily operations on the Monterrey-Tamaulipas-Veracruz-Villahermosa-Merida Gulf routes.

International Connectivity
In this market, the airline has increased the number of seats it offers on its 20 weekly flights to its European destinations, including Madrid, Paris, and London, with the addition of its Boeing 787 Dreamliners. In the case of Asia, Aeromexico added its fourth weekly flight to Tokyo and its third weekly flight to Shanghai for a total of seven weekly flights between Mexico and that continent.

In addition to its new service to Quito, Ecuador, the carrier will start to serve Rio de Janeiro from Mexico City in June this year. Rio de Janeiro is Aeromexico’s second destination in Brazil, for a total of 13 destinations in Latin America.

The airline also launched its Aeromexico Contigo product, aimed at the migrant market, to serve the Guadalajara to Tijuana, Chicago, Ontario, Los Angeles, Fresno, Sacramento, and San Francisco markets, in addition to offering flights between Morelia and San Francisco and Chicago, plus San Francisco to Leon with more attractive rates, a dedicated Call Center, and special check in counters, assistance with immigration forms, more legroom, and increased luggage allowance.

Fleet renewal
As part of its fleet renewal plan, the airline has added Embraer 170 and 190 airplane models to meet its domestic and international short-haul market demands. The carrier has also added Boeing 737 Sky Interiors jet airliners and five Boeing 787 Dreamliners to its fleet, of the total of 19 it has on order that have changed the travel experience for its customers.

Aeromexico believes that the Tianguis Turistico travel trade show is one of the most important platforms the country has to promote its business and tourist destinations. The company continues to work to maintain its position as Mexico’s global airline, and the best option to unite all Mexicans and the Mexican people with the world.
