Egypt is to take part in the conference of the International Federation for Tourist Guides due to be held in Melbourne, Australia on January 15, said Waleed El-Batouti Deputy Chairman of Tourist Guides Syndicate, noting that the conference will be attended with 33 countries as well as 15 other countries as observers.
The conference will discuss the tourist guides` status within the tourism industry in addition to the program of protection and insurance against death, total and partial disability.
The conference is held every two years in one of the member states, added Batouti, noting that Egypt offered to host the event in 2007.
Turkey, Indonesia and Ecuador are competing to host the conference as well.
