Malaysia, Hong Kong join hands to promote tourism

The Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia) and the Hong Kong Tourism Board have joined hands…

The Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Tourism Malaysia) and the Hong Kong Tourism Board have joined hands in India in a twin marketing initiative to promote their respective destinations.

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has also joined in the deal as a partner.

The concept of joint promotion will enhance cooperation for developing regional tourism in the Southeast Asian sector, said a Kolkata-datelined report in the financial daily, the Economic Times, quoting sources.

The joint promotion, according to sources, will serve several purposes. With the summer season and the school holidays over, a lull has set in the market, especially for the outbound segment.

This promotion will help to start the market again, the report says, quoting Bhupesh Kumar, marketing manager in India of Tourism Malaysia.

Indians are not known to be single destination travellers. Therefore, our joint promotion will help generate a lot of queries for additional destinations apart from Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong, Kumar has been quoted as saying.
