Easter in Corfu, Greece.

Destinations showing the biggest increase in sales this Easter compared to last include the Greek islands of Corfu and Crete and the Aphrodite island of Cyprus.

Spain is set to be the most popular beach holiday destination this Easter, with beach holiday specialist On the Beach revealing more Britons are heading to sunny Spain than any other destination over the Easter period.

The ever-popular Balearic Island of Majorca, which is fast becoming an all-year round favourite amongst British holidaymakers is the most popular destination overall this Easter, closely followed by last year’s most popular hot-spot, Tenerife.

The sun-kissed Algarve region of Portugal is the third most popular sun spot this Easter, followed by Alicante in Spain’s Costa Blanca region. The beautiful island of Lanzarote completes the top five list of the most popular destinations this Easter.

Morocco is also proving more popular for Easter getaways this year, with Britons heading to both the magical city of Marrakech and the beaches of Agadir.

Alistair Daly, Chief Marketing Officer at On the Beach comments: “Spain is always a popular destination for Brits heading abroad over the Easter period and it’s interesting to see the growing popularity of Majorca, which in the past was generally considered a summer sun destination for British holidaymakers. We can see that trend continuing with more and more people heading to other traditional summer sun destinations such as Corfu and Crete over the Easter period, both of which enjoy many hours of sunshine each day.”
