Athens, Greece – In the framework of the annual world conference on flight safety, being held in Athens with the participation of 500 delegates from forty countries, representatives gathered in Athens in early November in order to participate in a conference dedicated to flight safety in south eastern Europe.



Focusing on air travel, speakers underlined that it is still the safest form of transport and according to the same experts and plans are underway, as well as a set of new measures and initiatives, designed to make air travel even more safer. Also addressing the representatives of the Foundation on Flight Safety in SE Europe, which is a section of the Washington-based Foundation on Flight Safety, was none other than Greece`s Transport and Communications Minister Christos Verelis. The members, all from the civil aviation industry and provides a neutral and objective platform where issues can be discussed concerning flight safety, is comprised of some 840 members from 142 countries, including 270 airline companies that are a part of IATA.
