Boost in OA club class bookings

Olympic Airways<.> registered a jump in bookings for its Olympic Club class seats in February compared to the same period last year. The figure, in relation to domestic flights, rose by 44 percent while that for international flights increased by 20 percent.

Flights overall went up by 6 percent while its passenger load rose from 53 to 55 percent. OA attributes the latter increase to the greater demand for club class seats as well as a 14 percent boost in economy pasengers on international flights. More specifically, 145,079 individuals flew on OA in February compared to 127,738 the previous year.

Furthermore, in the first week of March passenger load was recorded at 64 percent, up from a 1999 figure of 55 percent.
