ITB Berlin 2007 will see the third Youth Incoming Germany (YIG) Workshop 2007 to take place on all three ITB Berlin trade visitor days: Wednesday, 07 March, Thursday, 08 March and Friday, 09 March 2007 within the Youth Travel Centre in Hall 4.1. (“Trend and Events”). Next year, ITB Berlin will take place from 07 to 11 March 2007. The fair will be open to trade visitors on Wednesday to Friday (07 to 09 March) and to the general public on Saturday and Sunday (10 to 11 March 2007).
According to Friederike Hansen, Berlin trade fair Product Manager, business associates coming from abroad will find German exhibitors in the exclusively designed closed-off YIG-Workshop area within the Youth Travel Centre (YTC). YIG (Youth Incoming Germany) serves as a central platform for trade visitors interested in Germany as a travel and study destination.
For international buyers and partners of the future or rather new WYSETC (World Youth Student Educational Travel Confederation), formed as part of the FIYTO (Federation for International Youth Travel Organisations) and ISTC (International Student Travel Confederation), exhibitors have planned a special YIG workshop support programme, scheduled to take place after the YIG sales talks on Wednesday to Friday (07-09 March 2007).
The programme includes excursions on ITB Berlin Friday along with a multi-day tour for journalists and buyers. As a WYSETC partner, the exhibition organiser offers ITB Berlin specials for WYSETC members at ITB Berlin 2007. This arrangement reflects the Berlin trade fair’s response to the growing popularity of youth travel.
A special summer Famtrip is planned for participants of the YIG-Workshop 2007, organised by the YIG-partner-state 2007 Schleswig-Holstein`s marketing representatives.
