The most significant business event of Philoxenia 2007 is taking place today (Thursday 1 November 2007) as more than 100 Hosted Buyers will meet with exhibitors of the 23rd Edition of Philoxenia (Mezzanine Floor at Pavilion 15). Hoteliers, travel agencies, airlines, car rental companies and many more will meet with buyers from around the world in one-on-one prescheduled meetings, while exhibitors who didn’t apply during the meeting procedure will have the chance to meet with the buyers on Friday 2 November 2007.

Starting an in-depth research to the inbound tourism of the Mediterranean and Southeastern Europe, Travel Media Applications, the parent company of TravelDailyNews International (www.traveldailynews.com) and co-organizer of the hosted buyers program along with HELEXPO managed to concentrate an important number of contacts with travel agencies, tour operators, business travel management companies, spa, special travel interest agencies and more. The number of contacts outstripped 4000 until the day the number of Hosted Buyers was completed.

Contacts were made with professionals from 70 countries. The buyers of Philoxenia 2007 are from 31 countries representing Europe, Africa, Asia, North America and Oceania. The number of this year’s confirmed hosted buyers is more than 100 and they are from Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Egypt, FYROM, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA and Ukraine.

American Express, Carlson Wagonlit and Expedia will be among the wide list of this year’s program with many small and medium size companies to follow. The SMEs are specialists in their field and with great history in their country’s tourism industry.

Their business activities cover all the spectrum of the inbound tourism of Greece, Mediterranean and Southeastern Europe. The categories that they cover are: mass and group tourism, tailor made tourism, business tourism, incentive tourism, special interest travel, family tourism, honeymoons, luxury tourism, golf tourism, spa tourism, cultural tourism, educational travel, convention tourism, cruises and more.
