London City Airport launches City Suite advertising

The demand for digital out-of-home (OOH) advertising, and the profile of London City Airport’s passengers, makes City Suite an investment that looks to attract premium brands wanting to target the high net worth individual.

London City Airport, in partnership with Wildstone Airports, has launched City Suite, a family of architectural-led digital advertising structures that utilise the latest in Samsung Smart technology and high definition 6mm LED screens. The demand for digital out-of-home (OOH) advertising, and the profile of London City Airport’s passengers, makes City Suite an investment that looks to attract premium brands wanting to target the high net worth individual.

The three sites that make up the City Suite are:

  • ‘City Welcome’, the airport’s premium sponsorship opportunity, is an architecturally designed 12m x 3m, 6mm LED screen incorporating welcome signage and a living wall, which will target all passengers entering and exiting the airport.
  • ‘City Icon’ is a 3m x 6m double sided 6mm LED screen located at the front of the terminal building. Focusing on the proximity to the terminal building, the location can be seen from a number of vantage points and will be the focal point of the terminal entrance and exit.
  • ‘City Traveller’ is a network of 75” Samsung Hi Bright screens located at key points throughout the passenger journey in to and out of the airport. Frequency led, this opportunity will be sold on a twice weekly basis to compliment similar OOH formats at other transport hubs.

Sally Emms, Head of Media Sales at London City Airport, said: “I am very pleased to introduce the City Suite, a design and technology-led development of cutting-edge digital icons at what is undoubtedly one of the country’s premiere business airports.

”LCY is just three miles from Canary Wharf and ten miles from Westminster, and almost 70% of our passengers are travelling on business, so this is a fantastic opportunity for advertisers to target premium passengers using an exciting new format.”

Paula Oliver, Managing Director of Wildstone Airports, said: “This has been a really exciting project for Wildstone Airports to partner on. As one of the UK’s premier hubs for business travel, London City Airport has a thriving audience that advertisers can now target through premium digital advertising platforms, which are designed in such a way that reflects the quality of the high value brands using them.

“As one of the first UK airports to create a network of digital sites in an outdoor environment, we hope the quality of these products set a precedent for the rest of the aviation industry.”
