Nice takes top private jet holiday hotspot again

Andy Christie, Group Director Executive Jets at ACS

Bookings to Nice are up more than 25% compared to the first eight months of last year, showing that the economy is generally doing fine.

Leading aircraft charter specialist, Air Charter Service, has booked more than a hundred private jet charters to Nice on the Cote D’Azur in France already this year, proving it to be the top holiday destination for wealthy individuals yet again, with demand expected to die down a little now as the summer comes to a close. As a contrast, the Sardinian city of Olbia drops down the list for the second year running.

Andy Christie, Group Director Executive Jets at ACS, commented: “Nice is far and away the number one destination for our European clients this year. Perennial favourites, Ibiza and Palma come in in second and third places respectively. But with Cannes in fourth, the Cote D’Azur as a whole still beats the Balearics for popularity. Malaga in Southern Spain completes the top five.

“Nice is always so popular, especially with clients of our seven European offices. I think that, aside from its obvious attraction as a stand-alone destination, the fact that you are also so close to places such as St Tropez and Monaco means that it acts as a kind of ‘mini-hub’ for holiday-makers in the French Riviera, many using helicopters to travel between them. Bookings to Nice are up more than 25% compared to the first eight months of last year, showing that the economy is generally doing fine.

“In the past Olbia has always proved popular with our Russian customers  and would be high up in the top five, but, for the second year running, bookings from Russia to Sardinia are down, which I believe are down to the economic troubles in the region.”
