ONroute launches new website for travellers on the go

Mobile-friendly website provides Ontario road trippers directions to nearest ONroute Service Centres; food, fuel, free Wi-Fi, and more.

TORONTO – As travellers take to the open roads this summer and fall, Ontario motorists on Highways 400 and 401 now have an easy way to find the many ONroute Service Centre locations for food, fuel, and amenity options nearest them. Host Kilmer Service Centres, the joint venture partnership between global restaurateur HMSHost and Kilmer Van Nostrand Co. Limited, launched a newly redesigned website for its ONroute Service Centres, ONroute.ca.

Serving 35 million travellers annually, ONroute Service Centres offer a modern assortment of amenities and services to ensure travellers have the convenience, efficiency and dining options important to them when on the road. Designed to meet the demands of these road travellers, the bold new ONroute.ca website is fully mobile responsive with streamlined navigation and functionality. Travellers can open the website on any mobile device during or prior to their journey and discover not only the closet ONroute Service Centre to their current location, but also receive turn-by-turn directions.

Travellers can now not only view a location finder map that allows site visitors to access a complete listing of the 20 plus ONroute Service Centres, but also sort the locations by the many food brands offered at the centres. With this feature, travellers can find their favourite food brands available at the nearest ONroute Service Centres to help in preparing for their trip.

“Whether on travel for business or leisure, ONroute.ca provides an enhanced experience for travellers and guests at our ONroute Service Centre locations and is the go-to website for travellers along Ontario’s Highways 400 and 401,” said HMSHost President & CEO Steve Johnson. “As a mobile-friendly site, whether looking for healthy eating options or the nearest Canadian Tire Gas+ gas station, ONroute.ca allows travellers to find the information they need, when they need it, right at their fingertips.”

Through the addition of a customer comment form to the website, guests can quickly and easily provide feedback on their recent ONroute Service Centre experience. Site visitors can also translate and view the website content in both English and French.

At all ONroute Service Centres, travellers will find healthy eating options, free Wi-Fi sponsored by CIBC, comfortable dining seating, clean and modern washrooms, seasonal picnic areas with accessible picnic tables, and a year-round designated pet exercise area. Guests will find a pleasing mix of their favourite local and national brands such as Tim Hortons, Starbucks beverages and food, Burger King, and M Market.

Design principles for all ONroute Service Centres embrace a commitment to longevity, accessibility, and green building practices. ONroute Service Centres are designed for 50 years of continuous use and are Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified.

Filling up the tank and purchasing a grab-and-go item are also easily done through the Canadian Tire Gas+ full service gas station and retail facility. Canadian Tire Gas+ gas stations can be found at all ONroute Service Centres.
