The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) made its educational debut in Argentina, with a strong contribution to the agenda of the Eye For Travel Conference, at Hotel Emperador in Buenos Aires. Focusing on Latin American Sales & Marketing in Travel, the conference provided a logical forum for proven travel policy recommendations, specially tailored by ACTE to serve its Latin Constituency.

Patricia Rasore, ACTE Latin America Regional Manager, made opening remarks regarding Return On Investment (ROI) during the Corporate Travel Policy Workshop.

Although many corporate travel policies are somewhat fragmented, future corporate programs will integrate all key components: technology, savings, safety & security, and travelers` satisfaction, said Rasore. The workshop panel analyzed each of these aspects aspects and focused on the new role of the Travel Manager with regard to more strategic responsibilities within the corporation. These include sales, marketing, and finance.

The key to managing corporate travel is to balance savings and traveler satisfaction, while maximizing internal communication and maintaining the corporate travel policy as a living document. Integration is the future. It creates value for a corporation, said Rasore.

Hernan de la Campa, Latin America Regional Travel Manager with Oracle, concurred, I fully support the vision of an integrated travel policy. This vision has brought us to a 98 percent compliance level at Oracle.

ACTE additionally cosponsored a luncheon in which Aitor Marin, the association`s Latin America Regional Champion, encouraged Argentineans to start measuring the benefits of belonging to a professional executive travel association. Marin emphasized the start of a new era filled with local corporate expectations and opportunities which the ACTE educational framework appropriately compliments.
