The Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) has named JoAnne Lloyd as its regional director for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, according to a statement. With 18 years of experience in the corporate travel market, Lloyd is coming to the association from Reed & Mackay Strategic Travel Management, London. At Reed & Mackay she served for the past 7 years as the Director of Supplier Negotiations/ Procurement and Head of Account Management.
JoAnne Lloyd comes to ACTE at an exciting time, said Susan Hopley, an ACTE Board member. This association provides the latest information on our ever-changing industry. ACTE education focuses on cost containment, latest technologies, distribution and procurement issues, as well corporate social responsibility, and contagion prevention. The EMEA region currently leads the world in several of these areas, specifically in the area of corporate social responsibility. Lloyd`s responsibilities include anticipating membership needs, working with the EU on a number of issues, and spearheading new educational potential in the EMEA region.
Lloyd`s most pressing assignment will entail translating ACTE`s various EMEA educational activities and political involvement into definitive savings for member corporations in the region.
The long-term effects of security-related issues, IATA questions, and other challenges — like health concerns — are crucial to our members. Lloyd in her new role significantly contributes to our industry and the corporations themselves, stated Hopley.
Lloyd will be based in London and will travel throughout Europe. In addition, she will coordinate with the ACTE regional directors around the globe. She officially starts on 5 June 2006.
