For airberlin, the USA is a strategically important core market. airberlin flies nonstop from Germany to five destinations in the USA and this summer has also increased the frequency of five different routes.

airberlin and the official marketing organisation for the United States of America, Brand USA, are strengthening their collaboration and jointly unveiled an Airbus A320 with special livery at Dusseldorf Airport. At the ceremony, Tade Peters, Vice President Marketing Communications airberlin, and Alfredo Gonzalez, Senior Vice President Global Market Developments Brand USA, together with guest of honour Stephen A. Hubler, US Consul General in Dusseldorf, officially inaugurated the aircraft. At the event, and together with their team of coaches, the players and cheerleaders of the Dusseldorf Panthers have come together to be the official partner of the aircraft, which will be flying within the European route network of airberlin.

Tade Peters, Vice President Marketing Communications airberlin, said at the event in the airport: “Brand USA is an important partner for airberlin. Expanding this co-operation with an aircraft in special livery once more underlines our commitment to the USA and we hope it will inspire travellers to visit this exciting and diverse destination. No other airline offers so many flights to North America from Dusseldorf as airberlin. This year we are flying to New York alone ten times a week and offer daily flights to Miami. Furthermore, we are the only airline flying non-stop to Fort Myers from Europe.”

Stephen A. Hubler, US Consul General in Dusseldorf, said: “The more Germans travel to the USA to experience its fantastic natural and cultural treasures, culinary delights and range of entertainment first hand and the more Americans travel to Germany, the stronger our transatlantic partnership will become.”

Alfredo Gonzalez, Senior Vice President of Global Partnership Development Brand USA, said: “Our unusual marketing campaign with airberlin underlines the importance of the German source market for the USA. It is like a dream come true for me to see our logo “Discover America” on an aircraft. Through our strategic co-operation with airberlin, we are certain we will draw greater attention to the USA as a travel destination, and therefore hope to reach our goal of welcoming two million guests from Germany to the USA in 2014.”
