The Canadian Alliance of Business Travel will host an Education Exchange Day on September 12 at the Marriott Hotel Bloor/Yorkville in Toronto. The event is expected to attract more than 50 travel managers and suppliers from throughout Canada and North America.

In light of recent developments in the air travel industry, the Canadian Alliance is also pleased to announce Renee Fairweather, Director of Communications for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), will conduct a special presentation on air security in Canada.

Tanya Racz, CCTE, President of the Canadian Alliance, commented, “Recent world events have even further highlighted uncertainty in the business travel industry. The Canadian Alliance is pleased to provide corporate travel managers and suppliers with education on topics such as airline security, pandemic preparedness, expense management, strategic meetings management and the Western Travel Hemisphere Initiative so that these professionals may continue to drive value for their companies in times of rising travel costs, heightened security measures and changing passport requirements.”

“As the world commemorates the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the United States, the travel community can’t help but reflect on the changes in the airline industry over the few past years,” remarked Fairweather. “As a representative of CATSA, I look forward to sharing with attendees of this conference the latest developments in protecting the Canadian skies and the agency’s plans to insure the future safety and security of air travelers in Canada.”

The Education Exchange Day will also feature a number of the industry’s most respected experts, including:

  • Jeffrey R. Cronin, VP Solution Marketing – Gelco Expense Management

  • Bev Heinritz, Vice President and General Manager – GetThere

  • Kari Kesler, Global Manager Meeting Solutions – Honeywell International

  • Bob Klay – Klay Management Ltd

  • Cameron McPhail, VP & Director Commercial Card – Scotiabank

  • David Page, National Sales Manager – Concur Technologies
